20 Minutes to Transform Your New Year
The last day of the year always sneaks up on me.
It’s part of that strange “Twilight Zone” between Christmas and New Year where everything feels both too fast and too slow. I used to cram these days with endless to-do lists, hoping I’d hit the ground running in January.
This year, I'm doing something much simpler: I take 20 minutes to reflect and reset.
Here’s the plan I follow to make the most of this day:
Minutes 1–5: Reflect
🔸 Write down your biggest wins from this year.
🔸 Note what didn’t work and why.
Minutes 6–10: Focus
🔸 Pick 1–3 goals you want to achieve next year.
🔸 Break each goal into a few actionable steps.
Minutes 11–15: Eliminate
🔸 Look at your commitments.
🔸 Decide what to drop to make room for your top goals.
Minutes 16–20: Plan
🔸 Block time on your calendar for those first steps.
🔸 Write down one action you’ll take tomorrow.
In just 20 minutes, you can leave the year behind and step into the new one with clarity and purpose.
And here is a bonus step that only takes 5 more minutes:
🔸 Say a short prayer to express your gratitude for what 2024 brought you.
🔸 Ask for a blessing over the plans you just made.
What’s the first goal you’ll focus on in 2025?
